What is it?

GenSportsPro Training Amateur Athletes test (GSP-AA) is the genetic analysis that provides information on how our body responds to different stimuli, related to injuries, body composition, formation, recovery and performance - nowadays, genetics are thought to be responsible for 40-60% of an athlete's results.

With an individual and personalized report written by our team of experts, GSP-AA delivers valuable insights to sports medicine and training, being the cutting edge science to understand your body, pinpointing details that can have a direct impact on your performance and sports injuries.

  • Body fat

Which one should I do?

We offer three amateur tests, depending on the kind of sport and physical demand - all of them analyze both training and nutrition genes, having some minor differences on amount and conditions tested - if more related to endurance, strenght or mixed. You can find a table below with some examples or compare them directly on the Shop page.

In case you have any questions or are still wondering where your sport/physical activity fits better, we recommend taking the mixed option, since it's our test with the higher number of analyzed characteristics.

Why do it?

Gaining access to previously unavailable information allows a full personalization of physical activity, befitting the training to your needs of load, frequency and types of exercise. Having a healthier and more resistant body is a huge advantage to any athlete, no matter the sport.

GSP-AA is then recommended to all athletes that wish to decrease the chance of suffering an injury and improve their practice, increasing performance and overall health.

No matter your physical condition and training frequency, your genetics are the same throughout your life, meaning people at all ages can benefit from the test. Picture this situations:

  • I have kids 12-15 years old and I'd like to check the characteristics that might help in talent discovery, regarding the kind of sport or even the position they play

    • For instance, a person with a higher percentage of fast twitch muscle fibers is likely to have more strenght, muscle burst, power and hypertrophy - characteristics that could be better used as a linebacker instead of quarterback

  • I'm a 28-year-old woman and still not convinced going to the gym is delivering the results I expected

    • One of Supplementation analyzed characteristcs is the faster os slower caffeine metabolization, which translates to being able to drink more or less coffee, improving your physical performance, lowering the perception of fatigue and post-exercise recovery, as well as your chances for side effects like anxiety, imnsonia and high blood pressure

  • I'm a man, 44 years old, and I like to play sports once or twice a week

    • You can find out your tendency to sprain an ankle, thus wearing some protective gear or minding some kinds of movements. That way you will lower the odds of suffering an injury; for muscle damage and inflammation, you'll learn to respect longer recovery periods between sessions

Pinpoint risky areas and help you lower the odds of injuries

Indicate which foods you should eat to improve your physical activity

Customize your training, according to workload, intensity and recovery time

The science

GSP-AA was developed through years of observation and study of athletes by world-known researchers in the areas of genetics, biomedicine, molecular biology, sports medicine, nutrition and physical preparation coaches. Its results and reliability are corroborated by a series of scientific papers. Some of them are:

There are over 200 markers mapped and analyzed nowadays, specifically for sports, in areas like speed, strenght, power, resistance, predisposition to injuries, nutrition and performance - GSP-AA analyzes a number of genetic markers (SNPs) directly related to physical conditions.
